The FHSF Board of Directors is made of community leaders that bring their leadership, experience and expertise within various fields and professions. FHSF Board members are expected to dedicate their time and talents to ensure scholarships are successfully raised through fundraising events and the development and nurturing of community partnerships.
The FHSF mission can only be achieved with the participation of as many Board members as possible. The Board has developed the “Board Membership Criteria” designed to assist in meeting the on-going and increasing financial needs of Central San Joaquin Valley Hispanic students.
The following are criteria for FHSF Board members:
- The Board usually meets on the first week of each month at 6:00 P.M. Each Board member is expected to attend 75% of the total meetings which includes meetings in preparation for the "Say Queso - Wine & Cheese" and the "Black & White Ball."
- It is anticipated each board member will play a role or participate in a subcommittee in preparation for the Wine & Cheese Mixer and the Black & White Ball.
- Board members will be encouraged to speak in a role model capacity, to create increased awareness of the FHSF, stress the importance of continuing an education, and scholarship opportunities.
- Potential Board members will submit a short resume, bio or statement, or can be invited by a current Board member to provide a short presentation regarding their background and interest in participating on the Board of the FHSF. If a resume is submitted, copies will be provided to the current Board members for review, and will be voted on at the next scheduled Board meeting. Recruited board members will be invited to a membership mixer where they will have an opportunity to meet the board and ask questions about FHSF’s activities and functions.
If you would like additional information or have any questions about the Board Membership please contact the FHSF Board President.
